We’re coordinating a petition calling for a referendum on The Trusts’ monopoly of alcohol sales (taverns, hotels and off-licenses) in West Auckland. A referendum will give West Aucklanders the chance to choose between allowing competition or continuing with The Trusts’ monopoly. The only previous referendum in West Auckland was way back in 2003!

WHEN

The petition started in August 2018 and there is no fixed end-date.

HOW

The petition needs to be signed by AT LEAST 15% of people who live in West Auckland to trigger the referendum. That means we need 12,684 signatures in the Portage Licensing Trusts area and 15,283 signatures in the Waitākere Licensing Trusts area. You can sign online here.
